Love is sweet but lets ditch all the processed sugar!

If you’re like us, you’re trying to watch your sugar intake after the holidays so we thought we’d share one of our favorite yummy, healthier treat options.

Who doesn’t like a good smoothie bowl!? We love all kinds of smoothie bowls but especially when they are topped with yummy fruit, granola, coconut and nuts.

If you want to make it extra special, using half a coconut as the bowl is super fun. We picked the smoothie ingredients including the coconuts, at our local grocery store.  All you have to do to open the coconut is to hit all around the coconut right in the middle with a hammer until it splits. It’s best to place a bag or bowl under the coconut to catch the coconut water.

Once we got the coconut opened, we made and poured the smoothie right into one of the halves . It would also be so fun to use sherbet or sugar free frozen yogurt.

Favorite smoothie recipe:

  • 1/2 cup frozen peaches
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries or strawberries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup almond milk

*Note: Use your favorite fruits

  • Additional options: chia seeds, hemp seeds, granola, protein powder, rolled oats

Add ingredients and blend in blender till smooth.

Pour and serve immediately. Top with favorite toppings.

Topping ideas

  • sliced almonds
  • Coconut flakes
  • Rolled oats
  • Fresh fruit: strawberries, raspberries, bananas, blueberries, kiwis, peaches etc
  • Granola
  • And if you want to extra, (like I tend to be) edible flower petals

We hope you love this fun idea as much as we do!  Be sure to tag us on Instagram over at @mypinkboxco if you make them. We’d love to see your memories!

Hope you have a sweet day and remember you are so very loved and needed!

Pinky promise!
