If you read our “all about us” blog post then you know we’ve had to really focus on digging ourselves out of some not so fun times.  Unfortunately everyone has their hardships in life so we thought we’d share a couple things that have helped us feel better.  We hope these ideas can help you get through the dark and not so dark times!  Dealing with the daily hustle and bustle of life is exhausting too!  Especially for us mamas! Caring for ourselves is often an after thought that needs to be on top of the list.  When we feel our best, we give our best.

We’ve noticed how important it is to make sure self care is something we practice daily.

Though self care looks different for everyone, self care includes anything you do to keep yourself healthy physically, mentally and spiritually.

Daily exercising, nutrition, water intake, meditation, getting outside etc are all great things that help our body and soul.

Self care can also be anything that may help you feel less anxious. Such as, making your bed first thing in the morning may make you feel accomplished and ready for the next task. Simple things like pampering yourself with a pedicure or bubble bath, daily bedtime routine, getting your hands dirty in your garden, watching your favorite show,  etc are just a few examples that may help you feel more relaxed.

One thing Lu does every single day is take a bubble bath once the kids go to bed. “I relax for about 30 minutes and either catch up on some emails, listen to a podcast or even watch an episode of Yellowstone. I make sure I have my drink, sometimes a treat and some yummy smelling bubbles! (Blush and Bloom products of course)  There’s nothin better then crawling into bed smellin fresh with freshly shaved legs.” “Being social is also a very important part of my life. If I didn’t have my friends and family to interact and share life with I would be completely lost and lonely. There for a while I felt really lonely but once I stepped out of my comfort zone and reached out to new friendships that really helped me to get back to feeling like my old self again.

Meg likes to get up every day at the crack of dawn and “get some me time in at the gym before my kids wake up.” ” It really sets the tone for my day, I’m sure my kids appreciate it too, because mom is happier. I used to not understand the hype behind working out aside from being physically fit, but ladies I’ve figured it out. For me, I need it. I’ll also take a drive, pick up some yummy food and eat in my car all by myself in silence. Sometimes even, at a restaurant. My husband does not understand how that is relaxing for me, but I love it. Though I don’t do this daily, these are just a couple of things that helps me calm down after a long day of mommin.”

Whatever your self care looks like, we hope you take the time to carve out daily  “you time”. You deserve it! You are amazing! And most importantly you are loved!
